Truffle hunting is a time honoured tradition, a secretly guarded age-old practice, that is passed on from father to son. You will be transformed into the elusive and magical world of truffle hunting deep into the dense forests and mountains of Lazio and Tuscany. Truffle hunting & extraction in Italy was inscribed onto UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. As you partake in this extraordinary journey, you’ll understand why.
Into the air of excitement venture the truffle hunter along with his faithful and beloved companions, where you witness them catch the scent of buried hidden gold amid the mulch and moss. Truffle hunting is a heritage of vast knowledge, centred on a profound understanding of the natural environment and the ecosystem, which underlines the relationship between humans and dogs by combining the truffle hunter’s expertise and the abilities of the dogs, with whom one forges a symbiotic relationship.
After the hunt, your senses will be treated to a sumptuous course lunch, masterfully prepared and thoughtfully paired with the freshly unearthed truffles. You will also enjoy home made wine, that has been selected to complement the delicate and complex flavours of the truffles.
