The National White Truffle Exhibition in San Miniato has been celebrated since 1969.
The beautiful village of San Miniato is perched on a hill, a short distance from the Arno and halfway between Florence and Pisa, both of which have fought over it for centuries. The origins of the center, famous for the region’s typical, delicious and prized white truffle, date back to the Etruscan-Roman era.

The largest white truffle in the world weighing 2,520 kg, was unearthed in the neighbouring village of Balconevisi in 1954. which was gifted to the president Eisenhower.
During the festival a prize is given to the biggest truffle and to the oldest truffle hunter.
San Miniato proudly celebrate the White Truffles, that are the crown jewels of the Truffle festival. The picturesque hilltop Tuscan town of San Miniato becomes infused with the flavour and smell of White Truffle.
The streets and squares of the old town are decked out with stalls and markets.
